Berks residents divided on Colin Kaepernick protest
In a strongly-worded Facebook post, Johnson said, “I am sitting in my living room looking outside at my American Flag – flying at half staff”.

Interesting, huh? Well, after reading that, if you’re have a “hmmm” moment, it’s because what Robinson wrote mirrors nearly exactly the recent statements made by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. So I’m not commenting on the issue itself because any person has the right to speak out on any issue they want.
“Not only does he show an incredible lack of knowledge regarding our profession and “officer involved” shootings, but also shows a naivety and total lack of sensitivity towards police officers”, Halloran said. A lot of National Basketball Association players have done it, and good on ’em.
Fisher then continued on by stating that while everyone has a right to speak their mind, that he’d be surprised if any of his players chose to do with Kaepernick did.
Harbaugh, who coached in San Francisco for four seasons, gave Kaepernick the starting job over Alex Smith in 2012, and the two reached a Super Bowl together. “I disagree with it”, Arians said.
However, the violence and danger that is attached with simply not being white in the U.S.is something that matters to large swaths of the country’s population and many members of the military probably feel the same as Kaepernick.
Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman, who is as outspoken about social issues as any current player, made points on both sides of the issue. “I know it upsets a lot of people”. “I think he could have picked a better platform and a better way to do it, but every day they say athletes are so robotic and do everything by the book”.
To paraphrase Yahoo Sports writer Mike Oz, it has to make you wonder just what would Muhammad Ali say if he were here? At least Brees took the time to think through his feelings on the subject, even if not everybody will agree with his thoughts.

Kaepernick’s stance, which he further explained Sunday after he was shown sitting on the bench for “The Star-Spangled Banner” before Friday’s preseason loss to the Packers, was still the chatter around the National Football League, too. It should have been a glorious moment for me as the stirring words of the national anthem poured from the stands.
