The standoff unfolded at 15 Destiny Court in the Mariners Harbor section of Staten Island.

The 31-year veteran is the first city firefighter to be shot in the line of duty since 1994.
According to the local Staten Island Advance newspaper, sources have described Tyree “as the leader of the Bloods on the East Coast”.
Officials then called for the fire department.
An FDNY firefighter was shot by an ex-convict while responding to a call about a fire caused by a standoff between the man and authorities.
Tyree was still barricaded in the home at 11:09 a.m. when New York 1 City Hall reporter grace Rauh tweeted that de Blasio had been in the gym for two hours. The suspect fired a gun. He was shot twice allegedly by the suspect – once in the calf and once in the buttocks, officials said.
“Today I die”, Tyree wrote in a chilling Facebook post before he came out blasting at the cops surrounding his home. “They flew me here from Delaware to watch them kill my son”, she said. So Mr. Hayes entered the apartment to check on Tyree, Mr. Nigro said, and was then shot by him.
“While he’s there he sits there and restructures the organization”, Tyree said.
Tyree told negotiators that he would only surrender if his mother were there, Lieutenant Jack Cambria, the chief hostage negotiator of the NYPD, said at a news conference Friday.
The firefighter was hit once or twice in the lower extremities while responding to a residence about 6 a.m., police say. He was hospitalized in stable condition and is expected to recover. Bullets struck police vehicles and a private house, said Widon, who oversees the emergency services unit.
Federal authorities were after him for violating the conditions of his supervised release on a weapons charge, officials said.
He handwrote two books on the gangsta life while in a high-security unit of Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center.
Soopermexican of The Right Scoop took a look at his website and discovered that Mt. Tyree apparently was a Young Democrats activist (in addition to being a member of the Bloods street grang).
