If elected, Trump to be Healthiest President ever

DES MOINES, Iowa-Donald Trump didn’t ride a motorcycle Saturday like several Republican presidential candidates did a year ago at Iowa Senator Joni Ernst’s Roast and Ride fundraiser, but he did draw cheers from those gathered after the ride at the State Fairgrounds.

The immigration policy speech was initially set for last Thursday in Colorado, but it was pushed back as Trump and his team wrestled over the details of what he would propose.

Trump, speaking on the Iowa State Fairgrounds with hay bales stacked behind him, sought to clarify his views on how to overhaul the USA immigration system after saying earlier in the week that he was softening on his plan to deport all 11 million illegal immigrants.

The candidate’s shifting stance hasn’t made it easy for top supporters and advisers, from his running mate on down, to defend him or explain some campaign positions.

Watch Trump’s full speech below (he says, “Shame on you” to Clinton’s team for trying to smear him), and read a full transcript here. The message came about an hour after his Arizona campaign director read a statement saying the event planned for the Hyatt Regency hotel in Phoenix had been cancelled. And they wouldn’t say whether it was worrisome that such a consequential proposal remained unclear so close to the November 8 election.

Donald Trump is pushing hard his outreach to African-American voters in a speech to a predominantly white crowd in Iowa. Those who want to limit immigration argue that it mainly reflects Trump’s erratic nature. But none could address whether Trump still favored a deportation force.

Donald Trump’s campaign is planning its biggest ad buy to date upward of $10 million on commercials airing over the next week.

Gov. Terry Branstad introduced Trump, as “a man who supports agriculture and the working people in the heartland of this great country”. “She does pander and the policies are not good for African-Americans”.

The Republican nominee released an online video that includes footage of the former first lady referring to some young criminals as “super predators” in the 1990s. This week, she was down to a 3-point lead, and the polling site noted the two haven’t polled this closely since late July. Trump’s campaign had scheduled it for last Thursday, then canceled it. Trump has tweeted that he has “no problem” releasing detailed medical records, but so far has not done so.

Conway wouldn’t say if Trump would definitely hold mock debates and if so, who would stand in for Clinton. Trump tweeted. He later sent a tweet offering his “condolences to Dwyane Wade and his family”.

The ad lists what it says will be the negative consequences of Clinton’s economic policies – “middle class crushed”, “taxes go up” – before declaring: “It’s more of the same, but worse”.

Pence appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union”, Priebus was on NBC’s “Meet the Press”, and Conway was on “Fox News Sunday” and CBS’ “Face the Nation”.
