2 dead, 3 injured in collision at Davie and Seymour

Two people are dead and three are injured following a rush-hour crash in Vancouver where an SUV rolled over and hit a pole.

Police have confirmed a 68-year-old male driver and his 70-year-old female passenger were killed at the scene. Police have not yet released their identities.

He says investigators are looking into the cause of the crash but he expects speed will be a contributing factor.

The crash happened as the white Lexus SUV was travelling north on Seymour Street near Davie Street around 5:30 p.m.

The VPD stated that a 68-year-old male driver and a 70-year-old female passenger were killed instantly late yesterday afternoon when the auto hit a tree and a light post at the intersection of Seymour and Davie streets.

Three pedestrians at the busy intersection also suffered various injuries ranging from cuts and bruises to a broken leg and punctured lung.

Two of the three injured are in critical condition, say police. Anyone with more information is asked to contact officers at 604-717-3012.
