Police say the email threatened campus safety.
The Chairman of the college’s Emergency Management Team sent a note to the campus community saying, they learned about the threats Monday afternoon.
William and Mary Police are in contact with the Virginia Tech police department, who is investigating the e-mails.
Virginia Tech student Jack Mustain says students were nervous. In an email to employees, Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack said the closure of the offices was “due to the serious nature of these threats”. The organization helps train and educates campus police across the state.
Tech Police Chief Kevin Foust said in a post on the school’s website that other schools received similar threats on Monday. They have not said which other universities received the threatening email.
