Judge orders State to begin releasing Clinton emails next month

The charitable foundation has been scrutinized throughout Hillary Clinton’s presidential bid, but the organization has faced greater scrutiny since emails were newly uncovered showing a top Clinton Foundation donor seeking access to a top diplomat when Clinton was secretary of state.

The fact that many of her usual allies are locked in tight House and Senate races may be contributing to the surrogate silence, as they focus on their own races.

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton campaigns with Vice President Joe Biden in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Monday, August 15, 2016.

Clinton’s campaign lashed out at The AP, claiming its findings were a distorted portrayal.

Defending the foundation’s mission, Bill Clinton pointed to more than 11.5 million people in more than 70 countries who have gained access to HIV/AIDS drugs at a much lower cost and millions of American students who have healthier food and more physical education options because of the foundation. “I want people to know that the decision to have a single email account was mine”.

Trump cited no evidence of any quid-pro-quo between the foundation’s donors and Clinton’s State Department Tuesday night, but still described Clinton as having been “bought and sold” and characterized the foundation as “a threat to the foundation of Democracy”.

The AP reported that, according to an analysis of her personal calendar and contact information, 85 of the 154 meetings Clinton had with individuals who were not US or foreign government employees were with foundation donors, a rate that calls into question whether donations to the Clinton Foundation were the cost of personal meetings and assistance from a powerful government minister. Besides, the Clinton Foundation is an anticipatory bribe-processing center for the would-be 45th president of the United States, Hillary Clinton.

“Hillary Clinton is totally unfit to hold public office”, he said at a rally on August 23 in Austin, Texas. “I can say what we do at the foundation and what the donors expect from us is that our work is impactful and lifesaving, and it is”.

He also said that if his wife becomes president, they will have to put more safeguards into place than when she was Secretary of State.

“The Clinton Global Initiative has helped more than 400 million people around the world, I’m proud of it”, Clinton said. They’re look for reasons in an election year to find anything to criticize the candidates about, but this has nothing at all to do with the work that we’re doing: “saving lives around the world”.

“The fundamental thing is you can not be Secretary of State of the United States of America and use that position to extort or seek contributions to your private foundation”.

John Podesta, the chairman of the Clinton campaign, said in a statement on Monday that the foundation had laid out “unprecedented steps” that it would take if Hillary Clinton is elected. That contact often did not lead anywhere, but it certainly encouraged corporate and foreign entities to calculate that giving to the Clinton Foundation might pay off in access.
