The first Hajj flight carrying 419 Bangladeshi pilgrims to Saudi Arabia took off from Hazrat Shahjalal worldwide Airport in the capital yesterday.

The first Hajj flight has left on Sunday morning.
The operation to transport pilgrims from numerous cities of Pakistan to the Kingdom will proceed until September 17, Syed Abu Ahmad Akif, director basic of Haj in Pakistan, stated on Friday.
He said all arrangements have been made by the state government.
As many as 666 Haj pilgrims from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kodagu districts are scheduled to leave for Saudi Arabia in different batches from Mangaluru airport.
Air India will operate special flights for Haj pilgrims from seven Indian cities – Delhi, Srinagar, Mumbai, Kochi, Hyderabad, Panaji and Nagpur.
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf will see off the intending pilgrims at Karachi airport.
Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, who flagged off the batch, congratulated the pilgrims and wished them safe and memorable journey. “Besides special arrangements for the “Ahram“, the police and home guard volunteers are deployed in sufficient numbers to help in loading and unloading the baggage carried by the pilgrims”, Veeri added.

Akif said that this year, 71,684 Pakistani pilgrims will perform Haj under the government scheme and will arrive through 293 flights.
