Injuries Plague Philadelphia Eagles in Match Against Indianapolis Colts
Christian Hackenberg led the Jets to a touchdown on his first professional drive, but struggled the rest of the night finishing with a team-high 105 yards, one touchdown and an interception on 6 of 16 passing. Huff hadn’t done much in his two previous seasons, and had struggled in the first two games with just three catches for 13 yards. He turned the ball over far too many times in the seven games he did play. “When we hit the field Monday again, hopefully we can get the majority of those guys back”. “. we’ve got guys who can step in and get the job done”. Any time that we can get him matched up one-on-one backside and take advantage of that it’s huge for us. “That was good to see”.

After both the Indianapolis Colts and Philadelphia Eagles experienced major disappointment last season, they now face wholly different 2016 seasons. Additionally, their defense will need to be rounding into form if they’re to have any success com the regular season. “But they are not canceling next week’s game or the one on the 11th, so we have work to do”. However, it appears that he’s not going to have a procedure done, so he’ll only be out two to four weeks. Now, that might make it susceptible to draws, screens and quick slants, but there is a feeling that defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz has enough talent on this side of the ball to do the things he wants to do and that could, in turn, make this a top 10 unit. Obviously not much of a start for a guy the Eagles are counting on. Now with a healthy squad of players and a simmering hot seat for the coach and GM, the Colts will look to bounce back and regain control of the AFC South.
“How old is he?” “I think the 3-4 is better for the run, personally, but the way we’ve got our front playing where they can cut it loose and be disruptive, that’s the most important thing for us”. “It would be just foolish on my part to do something egregious when a guy doesn’t have to”. That puts real limits on what the Colts offense can be.
“They did a nice job, and we didn’t do the job that we should have done protecting the quarterback”, head coach Chuck Pagano said at the half. Donte Moncrief caught six passes for 58 yards, while Phillip Dorsett caught three passes for 49 yards last night against the Eagles.
“It’s never ideal, but we probably have this conversation three times a year in the four years I’ve been here and into the fifth”, Luck said. “Come September 11th when that home opener starts we’ve got to be ready to go”. Cornerbacks D’Joun Smith (ankle), Patrick Robinson (groin) and Darius Butler (ankle) are also dealing with injuries. It’s the third week of the preseason, often referred to as a “dress rehearsal”, and the biggest training camp battles around the league should be completed if every head coach has his way.
Hoping to find someone to breathe life into a dormant rushing attack, the Colts signed former Patriots starter Stevan Ridley on Sunday. The Colts already were without Reitz, who missed the last two days of practice with a back injury, and rookie Joe Haeg, who suffered an ankle injury last week against Baltimore.
The sack Bradford talked about came from an unblocked defender who was not fooled by play action that Bradford came out of with a bootleg attempt.
The news on Mewhort, coupled with an expectation that right tackle Joe Reitz (back) will play in the season opener on September 11, gives the Colts a glimmer of hope that they can straighten out their line issues in the coming weeks.
Currently, the starting line would consist of Castonzo at left tackle, Harrison at left guard, rookie Ryan Kelly at center, Denzelle Good at right guard and Reitz at right tackle.

Pagano can’t give a definite answer on when his injured players will return to the practice field full-time.
