Gabbert and Kaepernick are competing for San Francisco’s starting QB job.

Rice is catching a ton of heat on Twitter for his use of the slogan “All Lives Matter.’ The term was coined shortly after the ‘Black Lives Matter” movement.

The 49ers quarterback refuses to stand for the National Anthem as a protest of how black people are treated in America. I understand it. At the same time, you should have some (expletive) respect for people who served, especially people that lost their life to protect our freedom.

From the White House to San Francisco police union headquarters, Colin Kaepernick’s name came up Monday as his decision to sit down during the national anthem reached far beyond football.

“I listened to him and he makes all of the sense in the world”, the Hall of Famer said during an appearance on NFL’s Total Access. People are being given paid leave for killing people.

“It is tough. Like, he did it – I would not suggest anybody else do it – but he did it, so I mean that’s all the power to him”. To clarify, I support Colin’s motivation. “So now 50 years later we have a young man saying something that was kind of taken for granted in our day”.

“I’m going to continue to sit”.

Harbaugh coached the 49ers in 2012, when he benched veteran starter Alex Smith in favor of Kaepernick.

The quarterback said over the weekend he would not stand for the traditional playing of the Star Spangled Banner ahead of a pre-season game against the Green Bay Packers. You respect our team, our organization and the other players, and you respect the mission that we are on and what we are trying to accomplish.

“We want our NFL players to be advocates for social justice. He essentially isolated the entire American population that are patriots and believe in the American flag and what the National Anthem stands for”.
