In the first six innings, Corbin allowed just three baserunners and got 15 outs via strikeouts or ground balls. The pesky third out which escaped Corbin proved even more troublesome in the eighth.

The left-hander was effective attacking with his fastball.

“It’s great to go out there when everything felt in rhythm all game”, he said.

For all the criticism that De La Rosa has received from fans this season, he has been spectacular since the 2nd half began. 274 with 105 hits, 15 doubles, eight home runs and two triples.

After winning four-of-six at Chase Field earlier this week, the Arizona Diamondbacks (56-57) travel to Atlanta to face the struggling Braves (51-63). Peterson walked and Maybin hit a sharp single that was just out of the reach of diving shortstop Nick Ahmed that allowed Simmons to score. David Hernandez struck out pinch-hitter Joey Terdoslavich to end the inning. Corbin has only made two appearances against the Braves but has not allowed a run in those 10 innings. Cameron Maybin then singled to center field, but that was Atlanta’s last hit until Lavarnway’s two-out double in the fifth. “For the amount of pitches he threw and pitching from behind, actually did a really nice job limiting the damage to three runs”. The Arizona offense has been quite productive the past week, scoring 46 runs while hitting. He went 6.0 innings, allowing three runs, striking out three and walking one.

Arizona had 11 hits.

The Arizona Diamondbacks were unable to muster a big threat against Julio Teheran and lost 3-2 to the Braves. All-Stars A.J. Pollock and Paul Goldschmidt were in the middle of the offensive explosion while the Diamondbacks spread things out with contributions from the likes of Aaron Hill, Ender Inciarte and David Peralta in their second straight series win. The Diamondbacks have scored only four runs in Corbin’s three losses, including a pair of 2-1 defeats.Foltynewicz posted his first victory since late May on August. 8, giving up two runs on five hits and working through control problems (four walks, 104 pitches) in 5 2/3 innings to beat Miami. He was signed the previous day after being released by the Chicago Cubs on July 29.

Gonzalez said he has told Jackson to use the remainder of the season as an audition for 2016.

I said earlier that we shouldn’t be surprised at this point if the streak continues, but I have to admit: I’m still surprised.
