Broncos Name Siemian Regular Season Starter
“I didn’t have any doubt when I made the decision, ” Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak said Monday.

Although Trevor Siemian made fewer mistakes over the course of the summer than Mark Sanchez, there will be errors that go along with playing a first-time National Football League starting quarterback. Veteran Mark Sanchez had some bright moments in practice and preseason games, but continued to be plagued by giveaways, and his three turnovers in approximately two quarters of preseason play did nothing to show that his career issues would be any different in Denver.
The perception changed, though, once we actually got to the preseason. The Broncos will now try to trade Sanchez in the next few days and if they can’t he will fall victim to the great roster cut ax. “I don’t know. I’ve got enough going on that I can make a decision”.
On Aug. 29, Siemian was named the starting quarterback for the defending-Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos. But it may depend as much on Siemian’s play as his own continued progress on the practice field.
Emmanuel Sanders said he likes how calm and collected Trevor Siemian is as the new quarterback of the Denver Broncos.
Siemian may be on his way to locking down the starting job to open the season simply by being at the middle of the two extremes.

“When you think about team, there is no “I” in ‘TEAM, ‘ but if I don’t do my job, the team suffers”. If the Broncos released Sanchez, they would save $4.5 million, and would not have to send the Eagles any draft picks. I believe what I see is some guy becoming better. “I’ll take my time and do it the right way”. The Broncos do not want to put Siemian or Paxton Lynch in any danger of being hurt. The team got nothing from the quarterback position in 2015, but the defense played at a level that will be hard to replicate, especially after losing Danny Trevathan and Malik Jackson to free agency and Vance Walker to injury. Earlier in the half, Siemian was tagged with an interception that on replay appeared to hit the ground before the Rams defender got up to run with the ball. He broke a vertebra in his back during Thursday’s preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks. The completely safe choice would have been handing the keys over to veteran Mark Sanchez, who couldn’t hold down the starting job.
