But in that same interview, Trump laid out some requirements for undocumented immigrants who wish to stay in the U.S.

United States Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump announced over Twitter this Sunday that he plans to give a “major speech” about illegal immigration in Arizona this Wednesday.

The Monmouth University poll, conducted from last Thursday to Sunday, shows Ms. Clinton leading Mr. Trump by 46 to 39 per cent.

“The reign of terror will be over”, Trump added, without explaining any of the mechanics of how his policy would work – namely how he would deal with the enormous backlog in the immigration courts and the legal rights of immigrants who have been accused of a crime. Secondly, he’s building that wall.

“If we don’t enforce visa expiration dates, then we have an open border – it’s as simple as that”, he said.

Whatever the merits of this approach on its own terms it must be pointed out that this has been the consensus GOP line since the Comprehensive Immigration Reform push blew up in 2013. “Equal protection under the law must include the consistent application of our immigration laws”.

Trump has changed his tone on undocumented immigrants in recent weeks and has expressed sympathy for those who came to the country illegally but have built a life without committing any crimes.

“These global gangs and cartels will be a thing of the past”, he said.

He did not explain how his plan would affect numerous illegal community who have been in the United States for decades and obeyed US laws.

“It’s a process. You can’t take 11 (million) at one time and just say ‘boom, you’re gone, ‘” Trump told Cooper. Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, a former chief of staff to Democratic President Barack Obama, has struggled in particular to contain violence in his city. “And it’s only getting worse. We send our thoughts and our prayers to the family, and we also promise to fight for a much, much better tomorrow”.

The effort grew more hard over the weekend after the Republican nominee tweeted about the murder of National Basketball Association star Dwyane Wade’s cousin.adding, “African Americans will vote Trump”.

The New York businessman was the headline speaker at “Joni Ernst’s Roast and Ride”, a charity event for military veterans run by U.S. Senator Joni Ernst, a Republican.
