Patriots place RT Vollmer, RB Lewis on PUP list
Running back Dion Lewis and offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer – both of whom were on the physically unable to perform list going into Tuesday – were also absent, and they were both placed on reserve/PUP later in the day.

Players on PUP can return following Week 6, but before Week 11.
Vollmer may still miss the season with injuries to his shoulder and hip. Lewis had surgery on his left ACL in November and reportedly had a second procedure on the knee this summer.
Tight end Steven Scheu and offensive tackle Keavon Milton, both of whom were cut, also weren’t at practice among players still listed on the roster. Those moves, in addition to the two players being officially added to the PUP list, bring the Pats down to the league-mandated 75 players.
The Patriots now have 76 players on the roster and need to announce one more move.
On Monday, the Patriots released Terrance Knighton and placed Tre’ Jackson on the reserve/PUP list.
Some of the absences at Patriots practice today were notable, namely Cre’Von LeBlanc. He could be activated to practice and play with the team at any time.

Kamu Grugier-Hill returned to practice. Wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell (elbow) and defensive end Rob Ninkovich (triceps) stayed for positional drills, which shows a step in the right direction for their recovery.
