Facebook still not looking to make your news, says Zuck
Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg is in Nigeria on a business research trip. Zuckerberg addressed Italy’s quake early in the Q&A, outlining how the company has helped in the aftermath of a natural disaster that killed more than 290 people. The chief executive of the social media site and his wife, Priscilla Chan, were granted a personal invitation to the Vatican to meet the Pope during their sojourn in Italy.

“We also mentioned the need for joining individuals, particularly in parts of the planet without access to the internet”. In today’s world of internet and media, it is these groups of people who can more easily catch the attention of the current and future generations and influence them towards the right ways of living. “But we want to do what we can, working alongside many others”, Zuckerberg and Chan added. It also showed Mr. Zuckerberg’s ability to think on his feet, which is expected from the CEO of one of the largest tech companies.
His visit is meant to give the technology magnate an insight on how Africa is embracing the sector so that Facebook can better support tech development and entrepreneurship across Africa, Facebook said in a statement.
Zuckerberg announced his trip to Italy last week after the country was struck by a devastating natural disaster.
He will be holding a live question and answer session later on Monday.

Many company watchers have wondered about Facebook’s intentions as it highlights news reports in users’ feeds and aims to attract more users with what Zuckerberg describes as a “video first” strategy.
The social media entrepreneur’s tour of Italy also included a meeting with Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi in the aftermath of the Amatrice natural disaster which left 281 dead.

According to APO news release, at CcHub Zuckerberg met with developers like Temi Giwa, who runs a platform called Life Bank that makes blood available when and where it is needed in Nigeria.
