Sashi Brown says Browns want to keep Josh Gordon

Why trade a player who, when on the field, can help a team? “If we can do that, I think we grew over these last two days”. “I don’t. They’re not shopping him”, Garafolo said on NFL Network.

A Browns team source had told Schefter that the team was not looking to trade Gordon, but Brown’s comments Thursday were the first public comments from the organization on trade speculation around Gordon. The receiver missed the first two preseason games due to a quad injury but on Friday returned to game action, his first chance to play with Griffin since 2010. Pryor went from pretty much a non-factor, playing in three games a year ago and getting one reception, to moving up to a top WR and getting over 100 yards and one TD through two preseason games, including an electric 50 bomb from Griffin.

The Browns had success in doing the latter of those dynamics this week in practice, as Haden and fellow cornerback Jamar Taylor recorded three total interceptions in drills.

Brown said that a recent report stating that Cleveland was willing to listen to offers “is probably a mischaracterization”.

“We’ve said all we need to say about it”. He is suspended for the first four games of the 2016 season for violating the league’s drug policy. Police found marijuana in the vehicle, and it would start a series of events in which Gordon found himself in trouble for substance-related instances. But the Browns never executed the deal after former coach Rob Chudzinski vehemently protested it and owner Jimmy Haslam ultimately vetoed Banner.

Carl Nassib, the third-round pick out of Penn State, has done exactly that in two preseason games, registering his first National Football League sack against the Packers in Week 1, and then a strip sack against the Falcons in Week 2.

The new Browns regime, which inherited Gordon, would consider parting with Gordon because it values draft picks and stockpiling assets and may not trust Gordon to stay eligible. This was caught, and it resulted in him receiving an indefinite suspension with possibility for reinstatement after roughly a calendar year. The Browns, however, aren’t likely to let him go.

That seems just fine with the Browns.

Along with this, because Gordon did not grace the field in the 2015 season, it is unknown if he can still perform at a high-level. The 22-year-old kicker is now working with a mental coach to get back on track.

“He did a great job of just running the team, running our offense, understanding where the ball needs to go, when to get outside the pocket and throw the ball away, when to slide”.
