He joined the Blues from Brazilian side Fluminense in a £6.7m deal last summer and immediately secured a work permit before featuring 20 times for Chelsea last season.

Kenedy, 20, is likely to be deployed by Watford as a wing back.

Kenedy, who does not turn 21 until February, will not have to be registered as part of the Hornets’ 25-man squad which will be confirmed when the transfer window shuts at 11pm tomorrow.

While Kenedy spent his younger years out wide, the 20-year-old can operate anywhere on the left flank and has predominantly featured for the Blues at left-back.

“His goal away at Norwich in March, which came after just 39 seconds, was the fastest scored in the Premier League last season”.

Chelsea have a 100% start to the current Premier League season, beating West Ham and Watford 2-1 as well as Burnley 3-0.
