Following reports that Pedro told club technical secretary Robert Fernandez that he wanted to leave, the diminutive attacker denied saying that but admitted to being angry at not starting in the Super Cup final.
“When you play your first game at home it is very important to keep a clean sheet but against Barca that is very complicated”. The only way City can sign him is by offering a ridiculous sum of money to turn his head around. His position is an unusual and hard one.
“It is down to consistency, minutes and I am an ambitious player“. “I don’t basically understand what he’ll decide on but what ever he’ll have our support”.
He added: “We have expressed our desire that he stay“.
“But, this is football and I wish him all the best either here or wherever he wants”. United are refusing to pay that amount and Sky Sports reported this afternoon that not only are the Red Devils not interested in signing Otamendi, they have never had an interest in the player.
The 28-year-old then came off the bench to score an extra-time victor for Barcelona in a 5-4 thriller against their fellow La Liga side.
Barca’s domestic and Copa del Rey success last term means Bilbao feature in the Supercopa for the first time since 2009.
Finally, we’ll end on an interesting tweet from yesterday morning. He has also played a part in Spain’s World Cup and European Championship triumphs.
“I’m calm, happy and I will always continue giving everything if I continue at this club”.
With Neymar ruled out for two weeks due to mumps (parotitis), it will be interesting to see if Barcelona can convince Pedro to stay put at Camp Nou.
However there are now doubts over potential moves for Barcelona forward Pedro and Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi.

Schmeichel wants De Gea to snub a move to the Spanish capital, but concedes there is little United can do if the player wants to leave.
