Washington Redskins TE Niles Paul out for season
Logan Paulsen, Washington’s third-string tight end, will also miss the entirety of the NFL season with a turf toe injury, according to Tarik El-Bashir. The injury leaves Washington without Paul for the entirety of the season, which puts them in a precarious situation, as their backup tight end, Jordan Reed, is often injured and has yet to complete a full season since joining the league in 2013.

The Washington Redskins on Sunday announced the signing of two tight ends, veteran D.J. The Washington Redskins are learning the hard way after placing two of its top three tight ends on injured reserve recently. And the team finally made their move on Sunday afternoon. “It’s him as a person and the energy that he brings to every practice”.
“We’re looking for somebody who can block”, the coach said.
Paul stayed down on the field and was attended by a medical team who immediately placed an air cast on his left leg before he was carted off the field.
Linebacker Adam Hayward said his heart especially went out to Paul because he knew how the tight end felt. It’s next man up, and you’ve got to move forward. Paulsen was going to primarily be a blocker, but this just means whoever is in for him will have more opportunities.
In the hours that followed, Redskins past and present voiced support through social media, as did numerous fans. “He’s just a great teammate to have and losing a guy like that hurts you”.
One possibility is former Redskins tight end Chris Cooley.
Paul, 26, generally avoids playing out his personal life on social media, but he took to Twitter on Friday morning to express his gratitude.

In another tweet the 26-year-old athlete said, “Life can be cruel sometimes”. It’s something that they’re a work in progress, and these weeks leading up to the first regular-season game are going to be very important.
