Yep, Ryan Lochte’s gonna be on DWTS
The news that Rick Perry will compete on the upcoming season of “Dancing With the Stars” stirred up cha-cha-chatter when it was first reported Monday night, as the imaginations of politicos and average Joes alike lindy-hopped to various conclusions.

Other “celebrities” in the contest are National Football League wide receiver Calvin Johnson, Jr., Disney star Jake T. Austin, Verizon IndyCar Series driver James Hinchcliffe, Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez, and actress Terra Jole (who’s probably half the size of her pro partner, Sasha Farber, which should be interesting to watch).
“Dancing With the Stars” will premiere at 8 p.m., September 12 on ABC.
Muva’s putting her dancing shoes on! “I think that’s what happened”, Lochte told ABC television’s “Good Morning America” yesterday, when asked whether he had embarrassed the United States with his actions.
If Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez does not make the finals, it will be an upset. “Val is a mastermind and it’s so nice because he seems really patient and like me, open to new things”. Nevertheless, a person may wonder why ABC went with Lochte as this season’s second Olympic contender as opposed to anyone else who honorably represented our nation in Rio. I don’t know any of them yet, but I’m excited to find out more and see what they can do on the dance floor.
“I was still going through the emotions of having a gun pulled at me”, Lochte said. He also insisted that it was time to move on and that “everyone (is) blowing this way out of proportion”.
Lochte’s dancing partner is Cheryl Burke, who has previously been paired with Antonio Sabàto, Jr. and Tom DeLay.
I’m starting from scratch. I’m going to treat this like going into the Olympics.
The show’s executive producer, Rob Wade, said on Good Morning America the casting team “started talking to [Lochte] before the Olympics even started”.
The news that he’s joining the Dancing cast (his partner is Cheryl Burke who had taken a couple seasons off) did not sit well with people on social media. He posted on Instagram that his Broadway show, Singin’ in the Rain, has been delayed.
Hollywood is full of roads to redemption for those who have committed the most egregious of sins. Julianne Hough, a two-time champion professional dancer, hasn’t competed since Season 8.

Overall, it looks like this should be an exciting season!
