Jack Wilshere could join rival Premier League side on loan

As Calum Chambers closes in on a loan move to Middlesbrough, another one of Arsenal’s English contingent could be on the way out as well, with Arsene Wenger giving his nod to a temporary move for Jack Wilshere.

He impressed there but injuries have curtailed his development meaning he has only played 105 times in eight years for the Gunners.

Wilshere will be hoping to prove his fitness and ability to Arsene Wenger who has completely run out of patience with the injury prone England worldwide.

Arsenal have completed the Lucas Perez signing, with closure of the Shokdran Mustafi deal imminent.

Wilshere missed most of the 2015/16 Premier League campaign due to an ankle and foot injury which the midfielder suffered during pre-season training past year.

He lost his starting place last season after he suffered a broken ankle, more specifically a fractured left fibula, and made just three appearances for the club.

With the transfer deadline looming, Wilshere has less than two days to find a club that is willing to make him an offer. The 24-year-old would easily get into our midfield when fully fit, but he very rarely is. Valencia have lost Andre Gomes to Barcelona, while Brendan Rodgers’s style of play might suit the Englishman.

However, after playing just 37 minutes so far this campaign, he missed out on Sam Allardyce’s first England squad with the new Three Lions boss citing a lack of playing time as the key reason behind Wilshere’s omission. It is game time for him and it has been few and far between because he has had too many injuries unfortunately.

With Arsenal paying £35m for Switzerland midfielder Granit Xhaka this summer it has meant that he isn’t now needed.

The Guardian are reporting that the England midfielder is free to move away from the Emirates Stadium on a season-long loan in order to gain regular first-team football.
