France global Mangala has made a decision to spend the season with La Liga club Valencia after failing to feature in any of City’s first five games of the season.

However, the powerful centre-back has struggled to live up to his billing at Eastlands and now finds himself behind summer signing John Stones in the pecking order.

Valencia have endured a nightmare start to the season with defeats to Las Palmas and Eibar leaving them bottom of La Liga.

The 25-year-old arrives as a timely defensive reinforcement for the LaLiga club following Shkodran Mustafi’s departure to Arsenal on Tuesday, while Aymen Abdennour is reportedly a target for Chelsea.

Mangala refused to leave City a year ago but was set to also be excluded from Guardiola’s Premier League squad list.
