Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry also joins the fray. Twitter predictions for Dancing With the Stars Season 23 are coming in, and there seems to be an early favorite: Laurie Hernandez.

Perry, who recently danced away from abuse of power charges, has been mentioned as a possible candidate for the U.S. Senate seat now occupied by Ted Cruz.
Other Dancing With the Stars contestants this season will include former Texas governor Rick Perry, model Amber Rose (who you may know as Kanye West’s ex), rapper Vanilla Ice (of Ice Ice Baby fame), and several other athletes, including 16-year-old US Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez, former National Football League star Calvin Johnson and IndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe.
The new season begins September 12 on ABC.
Lochte will be paired with Cheryl Burke, Perry will be matched with Emma Slater and “Brady Bunch” McCormick will be dancing with Artem Chigvintsev. I want to put this behind me and move on and move forward, and I think the rest of the world wants that, too. But she’s not the only Olympian this season.
Also competing: Talk show host Amber Rose; NFL star Calvin Johnson Jr.; Disney Channel star Jake T. Austin; racecar driver James Hinchcliffe;singer Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds; and “Little Women” star Terra Jole.
Lochte initially said that he and fellow swimmers Jack Conger, Gunnar Bentz and Jimmy Feigen were robbed at gunpoint in a taxi by men with a police badge as they returned to the Olympic Village from a party. Amber Rose is officially joining the cast of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars alongside returning professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
‘I reached out to Jimmy saying, ” know you have to pay that fine. [I’ll] put on my dancing shoes, or at least try to.
Mr Lochte has apologised for what happened and acknowledged he was drunk at the time.
“I have a great (legal) team and they’re dealing with it”, Lochte said.
“I’m going to treat this kind of like going into the Olympics”, he continued.

“I just hope I don’t forget my dance steps, were I to be on this program, after the third lesson”, Perry said on Fox Business News, riffing off his infamous failure to remember the third federal department he wanted to eliminate during his 2012 presidential campaign.
