National Park Service celebrates 100 years with a week of free admission
The usual $20 entrance fee will be waived for the National Park Service’s birthday weekend, which will feature free admission at all 412 national parks through Sunday.

Teodorski says logging would have taken away South Carolina’s only national park.
“We hope residents and visitors alike will join us in celebrating the Centennial, then help kick off the next 100 years by taking a drive down the The Trace, enjoying the hiking trails or simply taking time to relax and spend an afternoon in Timberland Park”, Westman Chin said.
The government body oversees 411 national parks, recreation areas, and various moments, and as the Chronicle reminds us was officially created by President Woodrow Wilson on August 25, 1916.
It’s a celebration 100 years in the making, and everyone is invited!
The newest national park is in the northeast state of Maine.
