According to Entertainment Weekly, Cyrus brought Helt as her date for the 2014 MTV VMAs to raise awareness regarding the issue of youth homelessness.

He gave a short speech, telling an audience packed with celebrities in Inglewood, California: “Thank y’all”.
“I am accepting this award on behalf of the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth in the United States who are starving, lost and scared for their lives right now”, Helt said during his time on stage in 2014.
He apparently held onto the award himself – until now.
The item description simply reads, “In mint condition”.
He is hoping to raise $15,000 from a mega fan who may chose to Buy It Now, or starting bids can be opened at $10,000; shipping will cost you $20.
Helt also posted the Ebay listing on his public Facebook page. It wouldn’t be the first time an MTV Moonman has been sold. The hearing about the probation violation came a few months after his date with Miley Cyrus to the awards show.
They say he is about to become a father and that’s the reason he needs the money from the VMA.
This week, Helt shared an Ebay listing for “VMA Miley Cyrus 2014 Moon Man trophy”, with a picture of him holding the award. For anyone interested in owning Cyrus’ Wrecking Ball MoonMan, the award is available on eBay through September 7.
