‘No Mario’s Sky’ – play it for free without downloading
The result could be something like this new awesome game called ‘No Mario’s Sky’, a simple title that has been created in just 72 hours by the Ludum Dare 36 competition.

Ludum dare 36’s “ancient technology” theme jam resulted in the invention of the latest “old school” game No Mario’s Sky, which is full of innumerable mutant Goombas, coins, mushroom-shaped powers and rocket ships. What’s even better is that this space exploration game features Nintendo’s iconic 2D Mario style (and Mario).
No Man’s Sky might not have been all you hoped it would, but that doesn’t mean that the concept of exploring a near infinite number of planets in an expansive universe is a bad one.
Joe Skrebels is IGN’s UK News Editor and, like, he gets the idea, but what’s the *point* of No Mario’s Sky? But here, our little plumber has to find his princess instead of finding the center of the galaxy.
Still, putting the two together in a videogame might not have been the obvious choice – but that’s just what ASMB Games has done with No Mario’s Sky.
It’s not a deep game but it is bloody large, with billions of planets to visit, and it’s free, too, so it’s well worth a try. No Mario’s Sky is available for all Windows, Mac and Linux users.

Might want to jump on this quick before Nintendo issues a cease and desist.
