Comcast “Watchable” reportedly launching soon to challenge YouTube
The company also announced in July that it will launch Stream, a “skinny” web TV service that offers affordable cable packages – about a dozen channels for only $15 a month.

YouTube is relying on the upcoming launch of the online gaming video platform YouTube Gaming and its massive news curating platform, that are aimed to win it major points with the gaming community on one hand and with all news enthusiasts out there.
Apart from these video makers, Comcast has made contacts with the VICE News, NBC Sports, and others to publish their content on the Watchable.
Comcast is apparently gearing up to launch a video service called “Watchable” in the near future, gunning for YouTube and other such video platforms.
Rumors have abounded about a video service being released by Comcast even prior to that based upon some documents that had been part of a review of the merger with Time Warner, but that assumption was it would be more along the line of competing with video streaming companies such as Netflix. Comcast’s platform is going to be called Watchable, according to Business Insider.
The partners have committed to providing the content for Comcast’s Watchable for a few years. Said agreement would give Comcast’s new video platform a ton of “unlicensed, original video content”, as Business Insider describes, which would be viewable by any Comcast user with an Xfinity X1 set-top box.
While success for Comcast is far from guaranteed the initiative seeks to complement traditional TV and, Humpty Dumpty style, put the broader TV audience back together again. As of now, Comcast, which is the largest cable company in the United States, has around 20 million cable-TV customers.
Users of Watchable will be able to enjoy the content as they please, as it is available for streaming on demand.

Comcast has not responded to any of the report’s details, but it is expected that at least some of them are accurate.
