Chelsea player ratings following tight Watford victory
Costa’s behaviour once again came under the scrutiny of the TV cameras during Chelsea’s 2-1 at Watford on Saturday.

Diego Costa was once again the hero, netting the victor after close-season signing Michy Batshuayi levelled things up.
The Spaniard was also a substitute in the win against West Ham on Monday and Conte hinted that he is still looking for his preferred central midfield duo with Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante now getting the nod.
“So I want him to put himself in the game, not to think of other situations”.
“I’m pleased for Moses, Cesc and Batshuayi because their impact was very good”.
“I don’t understand that other players or managers or press all say bad [things] about him”, Conte said.
The Italian tactician has seen his side make an impressive start to the campaign, securing back-to-back wins to start his tenure and they sit with maximum points after two games.
“What can I think?”
The duo linked up for the second time in as many games during Chelsea’s win over Watford. In these two games, we saw this.
Courtois has been impressed by the contribution of his countryman, who has helped Chelsea preserve their winning start to the season.
“I am happy for how we played for 70-80 minutes because we played very well but I am not happy with the result”, Mazzarri said.
But Conte defended the volatile Spain forward, saying: “He scored two goals but I d have preferred him to score them earlier. We can still improve a lot, but we must continue to work like that”.
“If you look now at our squad, we have only five defenders – four that started today and an academy player Ola Aina”, he told Sky Sports.

Fitness levels may have played a part in Watford’s late defeat to Chelsea yesterday, defender Craig Cathcart has admitted. Both goals were our errors. I thought we were excellent in the first-half, and restricted them to very little.
