The Big Ten released the schedule for the season Monday, and Penn State will start conference play with a home game against IN on December 28. The conference schedule was announced Monday, and the Gophers get a pair of games with the perennial powers. Each school will face three opponents twice in a home-and-away series, while playing the other 10 schools once (five at home, five on the road).
The 14-game non-conference schedule wraps up on December 21, as the Boilermakers host IUPUI in Mackey Arena for a noon tip, and then will take full advantage of a 10-day holiday break as the rest of the Big Ten will start play on December 28.
Eighteen women’s golfers claiming preseason honors were named Academic All-Big Ten in 2016: Illinois’ Stephanie Miller and Chayanid Prapassarangkul, Iowa’s Jessie Sindlinger, Michigan’s Choi and Megan Kim, Michigan State’s Burnham and Sharp, Minnesota’s Heather Ciskowski and Emie Peronnin, Northwestern’s Kim and Komoto, Ohio State’s Pogacar, Porvasnik and Rio Watanabe, Purdue’s Kim and Marta Martin, Rutgers’ Emily Mills and Wisconsin’s Ferrell. They host Ohio State on January 26 and finish the regular season at Maryland on February 26.
Iowa’s conference schedule features four weekend and four midweek home games.

The schedule flips at the end of January as Purdue hosts Nebraska and Maryland in back-to-back home games, then heads over the border to IL before coming back to Mackey Arena to face MI. Iowa’s game against the Badgers will be “Senior Day”. The last time Nebraska won the Big Ten Tournament was at Banker’ Life in 2014.
