New Bang & Olufsen Wireless BeoSound 1 & 2 Speakers Launch From $1495

If nothing else, Bang & Olufsen knows how to make an impression. Everything the company designs is just so darn cool; it’s hard to look away.

360 degrees of advanced acoustics BeoSound 1 and 2 are equipped with the Acoustic Lens Technology renowned from classic Bang & Olufsen speakers such as BeoLab 5 and BeoLab 18. As a result, these might be some of the first 360-degree speakers that have truly impressed us when it comes to both looks and sound. This shape lets the thumps of bass units out beneath while they are slightly open at the top for acoustical reasons. As the sensor detects a person’s presence, it is ready for commands through the interface.

The devices’ controls are few and simple: Touch sensors housed in the floating disks can be spun around to vary the volume, and tapped or swiped to turn on, switch sources or change tracks.

The BeoSound 1 and 2 are certainly not pocket-sized and at €1295 (US$1495) and €1695 (US$1895) respectively they won’t fit many pocketbooks either, but then that’s never been the company’s goal.

Bang & Olufsen has today announced the launch of a new range of wireless speakers which take the form of the Bang & Olufsen BeoSound 1 & 2 speakers.

“We live in a time of cord cutting where everyone wants more freedom”. And they’ll cost you, naturally, at a jaw-dropping $1,495 and $1,895.

“The sound you will experience is spherical, powerful and precise – no matter where the speaker is placed, and no matter where you are placed”, says Bang & Olufsen.

This new television carries over many features from the BeoVision 14 including sound and images that adapt to the TV’s environment and the content being watched.

Bang & Olufsen is selling the BeoSound 1 now, with an MSRP of $1,495. The BeoVision Horizon will ship out with the BeoRemote One Bluetooth starting this December. It’s no tablet, as the smallest model has a 40-inch, 4K screen, but you can wheel it around if you choose the optional stand with castors. Connect up to 8 BeoSound 1 and BeoSound 2 in a multiroom set-up.
