CM Punk GUARANTEES VICTORY … ‘I’m Gonna Win’

After signing with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in late 2014, Punk’s mixed martial arts (MMA) debut has been put off due to one setback or another. He’s getting a lot of attention, but I think it’s not going to be in his favor. Punk said he assumes he will have nerves because he is about to fight, but he doesn’t think it will be due to the cameras or the crowd.

“He’s talking about “I want to test myself” and this and that – well, he’s going to be tested”.

Top contender Alistair Overeem has the biggest challenge of his life coming up when he fights newly crowned heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic for the title at UFC 203, but Overeem is also looking at how former WWE star Phil “CM Punk” Brooks will do in his fight with promising star Mickey Gall at the event.

Finally, almost two years after signing with the UFC, a now 37-year-old CM Punk is only days away from getting into the octagon and facing up and comer Micky Gall. “And there’s people out there who realize that once I step into the Octagon, I’ve already won”. “Don’t give up at the first hurdle you encounter. I feel like when I spar, it’s more loose and I’m having more fun”, said Punk. Tell me I didn’t turn my wrist over soon enough?

While in pro wrestling the finishes are scripted, in MMA it’s not the case. For his part, he rightfully expects to come out victorious.

“Whether it goes three rounds or three seconds, my hand will be raised; that’s what I expect”, Punk said.

“He’s fought before and I haven’t”. “I’ve had batteries and loaded diapers thrown at me. It’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey”.
