The 24-year-old rapper called out wax museum, Madame Tussauds, for its decision to portray Nicki on all fours for her statue, calling it “underhanded shade”, and even suggesting Nicki “ask for a do-over”.

There were many fans of Nicki Minaj‘s wax figure at Madame Tussauds from her Barbz to the Queens native herself. While it seemed Minaj was more than happy with her wax likeness, Banks took issue with the pose Madame Tussauds chose. “[I] had no idea they were really doing this”, Minaj wrote on Instagram.
Although Banks spoke out in support of Minaj, recognizing both her talent and accomplishments, the pair don’t have the best history.
On meeting the figure which was dressed in a suit and holding a microphone, complete with Smith’s trademark quiff, the singer whipped out his phone and took a series of selfies – including one of himself kissing the figure on the cheek. And she found it especially offensive that it was on all fours.
“Anaconda” has become an iconic video, and Minaj looks incredible in it. But by capturing her on all fours, the wax figure and those behind it are taking away her power, her agency over the video and her career. According to Complex, in 2012, Banks went after Minaj on Twitter for shortly after declining the opportunity to join her on tour in Europe. Minaj and Banks’ feud started in 2012 when Banks said she had to turn down a tour with Minaj to work on her album. Minaj had gone on a Twitter rant about not being nominated for Video of the Year at the VMAs, pointing out how black women are often excluded in the music industry.
