ASUS ZenWatch 3 Officially Unveiled

ASUS initially announced the ZenPad 3S 10 earlier this Summer back in the middle of July, with an August 1st launch date for the Taiwanese market set at a price of TWD 11,000, which is roughly $342 United States dollars. The watch also houses three crown buttons on its side to let you access apps and programmes and also comes with as many as 50 watch faces apart from those featured in Android Wear. Their previous efforts were smartwatches that were of the square-ish variety.

All in all, the Asus ZenWatch 3 is a device worthy of attention. However, Asus also says it should take just 15 minutes to reach a 60 percent charge with the ZenWatch 3’s included magnetic charger, which snaps onto the back of the watch.

Other features include an activity tracker that can track the wearer’s steps throughout the day, although unfortunately it does not appear to have a heart rate tracker built into it. It offers a comprehensive set of entertainment-focused features, including ASUS Tru2Life video-enhancement technology and a powerful stereo audio system with five-magnet speakers and NXP smart amplifier technology that make media look and sound their best. The ZenWatch 3 sports a 1.39-inch display with a 400 x 400 resolution that clocks in at 287ppi.

Asus unveiled its first round smartwatch at IFA on Wednesday. It isn’t feather-light, and we can’t call it thin either after having the chance to wear one, but it sure catches the eye with its construction.

ASUS Vice President Eric Chen took the stage at the Zenvolution event today to pull the wraps off their lovely new wearable device, the ZenWatch 3. It also comes with an upgraded battery and interestingly they have also announced a battery pack for the watch. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100, specifically designed for wearable devices clubbed with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory. You can even design your own watch face using the accompanying smartphone app.

For one, the ZenWatch 3 is now a complete circle unlike its past iteration which was an odd rectangle.

Gunmetal, silver and the ubiquitous rose gold are the three colors to pick from and you can pair those with your choice of leather or rubber strap (there’s no metal option straight from Asus this time). You can count steps and track walking, running, push-ups, and sit-ups, to name a few activities. Also, don’t forget to follow the @whichtech twitter feed to send us your questions and comments.
