The Bears waived defensive lineman Keith Browner, receiver Kieran Duncan, receiver Derek Keaton, offensive lineman John Kling, receiver Darrin Peterson, defensive back Joel Ross, tight end Gannon Sinclair and offensive lineman Martin Wallace on Sunday.

By the time the Eagles starters exited the 33-23 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Saturday night in the third quarter of the third preseason game, they held a three-touchdown lead and could begin thinking about the Cleveland Browns on September 11. Josh Huff caught two passes for 60 yards and scored on a 9-yard run.
Even the Eagles’ newest wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham got into the act, catching a 4-yard touchdown pass in precisely the way the Eagles had in mind when they traded for him August 16 – on a jump ball in the end zone where he could use his 6-foot-5 frame to outleap a smaller defender. It allowed three sacks and six quarterback hits on Andrew Luck’s 21 dropbacks in the first half. He’s a great left tackle. So we’ve got guys who can step in and get the job done. “There’s way too much penetration”. Through camp and two preseason games, Rogers looks like an National Football League wide receiver, but doing that against defenses stocked with shabby talent destined for the cut list is one thing.
And he was the only Colts quarterback to direct a series that reached the end zone against Philly (3-0). Or the playoffs. Bradford said people need to understand that the preseason – even the third game of the preseason, when starters usually play the longest – doesn’t mean much.
But the Eagles struggled to score at times in the regular season, and were 6-9 when head coach Chip Kelly was sacked with one game remaining in the season.
Third sttring quarterback Stephen Morris ran for one touchdown and threw for another for the Colts. It was a worthy encore to last year’s third preseason game against Green Bay, although he should hope for a better start to the season.
The most impressive thing about their performance was that they dominated as a collective unit. Pederson said Wentz is “in a position to possibly play next week” against the New York Jets.
Huff said he never ran a jet sweep at OR, and he didn’t do it during his first two seasons with the Eagles. Undrafted rookie David Watford made his time count, though, catching a 28-yard TD pass on his only reception of the game. He exited with the Eagles holding a 24-3 lead. There’s no sense in even evaluating the Colts’ defense at this point, with so many players (Robert Mathis, Vontae Davis, Henry Anderson, Kendall Langford, Clayton Geathers, Patrick Robinson and others) on the injured list.
Pederson said he planned to bring Green-Beckham along slowly. But if that is what is necessary for the Colts to keep Luck upright, Allen will be a very athletic third tackle. He had a pass deflect off his chest and into the arms of the Colts’ Darius Butler on the Eagles’ first possession. He went to a Super Bowl with New England in 2011, his rookie year, when he was a third-round selection, and again in 2014, when he was hurt.
This matchup between the Eagles and Colts will be broadcast on local TV networks. They are two areas that have to be points of strength if the Eagles offense is going to be successful.
