After meeting with Trudeau, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang told reporters through a translator that Canada and China will launch a feasibility study on an eventual free-trade deal.

Canada, Trudeau added, can help China when it comes to governance and rule-of-law issues as well as global fears about the “tremendous appetite” of Chinese entrepreneurs and companies as they seek out foreign investments and partnerships.
Canola is the country’s second-largest trading product with China.
Luo added that China buys 87 percent of its canola from Canada due to its good quality and production.
“This isn’t always well received by populations and governments around the world”, he said.

As Prime Minister Justin Trudeau begins his first official visit to China, the Canadian Coalition for Human Rights in China – which include Students for a Free Tibet, Canada-Hong Kong Link and Amnesty International Canada – are set to hit the parliamentary media circuit to “urge” Trudeau and his government to “make human rights a priority” during his trip.
