An unidentified suicide vehicle bomber attacked the Chinese Embassy in Kyrgyzstan’s capital Bishkek in the morning of August 30, killing himself and wounding three embassy employees.

Chinese state news agency Xinhua said: ” The driver tried to ram the gate of the embassy compound”.
The Chinese embassy in Kyrgyzstan was attacked Tuesday morning by a suicide auto bomber, in which the lone assailant was killed and five others were wounded besides serious material damage.
A bomb vehicle exploded in front of the Chinese embassy in Bishkek, told Kyrgyz senior security officer.
In a press conference in Beijing, foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying condemned the “extreme violent act” and urged an investigation, but stopped short of labeling it an act of terrorism.
A witness told the private AKIpress news agency that a Mitsubishi Delica-type minivan crashed through the embassy’s western gate at “full speed” before exploding near the Ambassador’s Residence.
The embassy in Bishkek’s southern suburbs neighbours the United States embassy.
China denounced the attack and appealed to Kyrgyz authorities to identify and harshly punish anyone involved.

Reports from the capital Bishkek say only the bomber was killed and three embassy employees, all Kyrgyz, were injured.

Chinese officials in Kyrgyzstan have previously been targeted, with one shot dead in 2000 in an attack blamed on radicals from the Uighur minority. According to media news, it has been confirmed that this is the first attack in the history of a country.
