Police Arrest Two Brother’s for NBA Star Wade’s Cousin’s Murder
Two brothers have been charged in the fatal shooting of the cousin of National Basketball Association player Dwyane Wade, police said Sunday.

According to CNN, Chicago police have now arrested brothers Darwin Sorrells, 26, and Derren Sorrells, 22, who are both gang members.
Nykea Aldridge, 32, was walking Friday afternoon in Chicago’s Parkway Gardens neighborhood to register her older children for school. Aldridge was not the intended target, police said.
Police say the pair were trying to shoot an Uber driver dropping off passengers from a nearby auto Friday afternoon when they accidentally shot Aldridge.
“She wasn’t aware her short life would stand as an example of what is a clear failure of the criminal justice system here in Chicago”, said Eddie Johnson, the police superintendent.
With one more day to go, August 2016 will end as the city’s most violent month since October of 1996. The New Creation Church is located at the Willie Mae Morris Empowerment Center, which Wade said was recently set up with the mission of steering disadvantaged youth away from crime and gun violence.
Darwin Sorells was sentenced to six years in prison in January 2013 for a felony gun charge and was released from prison earlier this year. What needs to change before people with histories of gun violence are held more accountable for their actions? Four kids lost their mom for no reason. When Tapper noted that police say many guns from Indiana make their way into the city, Pence replied: “In Indiana, we know what most Americans know, is that law – that firearms in the hands of law-abiding citizens makes our communities more safe, not less safe”. Not for me and my family but for the future of the world.
In 2012, Wade’s nephew, Darin Johnson, was shot twice in the leg but recovered.
Pence sidestepped questions about the flow of guns into IL from his state.
Police believe the Sorrells brothers meant to shoot the driver of a vehicle that ferried Aldridge to the school where she was attempting to register her child. She was taken to Stroger Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Aldridge’s death became a political football after Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump tweeted about the shooting, saying: “Just what I have been saying”.

“Her life was cut short”, Johnson said.
“We’re still going to try to help and empower people like the one who senselessly shot my niece in the head”, Wade told reporters following Aldridge’s death. They also said they have eyewitnesses, including Aldridge’s boyfriend and the driver, who can identify the suspects.

This tragedy isn’t just noteworthy just because Ms. Aldridge has a famous family member.
