The annual IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin, which translates to “International radio exhibition”) conference in Berlin, Germany, is one of the oldest consumer electronics exhibitions in the world.

Lenovo’s teaser video for IFA includes everything from tablets to new Moto Mods, an intuitive keyboard, new devices and more. That doesn’t mean Samsung won’t have anything to show at IFA, but it likely won’t have any phones on the docket.

In February 2016 Sony confirmed that the Xperia Z lineup is no more, and instead the series has been replaced by the Xperia X lineup which was partly uncovered at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. A smaller rumored version of the Xperia X Performance, the Xperia X Compact, might be unveiled at the IFA 2016 event.

If rumors are true, the LG Flex 3 will come with a 5.5 inch screen with a 1440 x 2560 display. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, featuring 23 MP rear cameras, 13 MP front-facing cameras and USB Type-C ports respectively. Xperia X Compact is also expected to be packed with a 64 gigabyte internal storage, but a microSD card slot was not mentioned.

These phones will look broadly similar to other recent Xperias, but according to recent leaks, curved edges will help make them both stand out and be more comfortable to hold than their square-edged predecessors. Though ASUS announced the ZenFone 3 series at Computex, it could unveil a mid-tier offering at IFA.

Chinese phone super-manufacturer Huawei only just announced the Honor 8 smartphone for the U.S. market, but we should see yet more shiny new things at IFA.

IFA has made its name as been a wearables show. Rumors suggest that Samsung will launch three versions of the S3: the Frontier, the Explorer and the Classic.

One thing that gave this away is Asus’ tweet saying that “The time for something incredible is now!”. The firm could also present a new smartwatch, following in the footsteps of its famous Moto 360, released two years ago. Acer might also present an ultra-thin notebook while Lenovo might have another Yoga laptop as a surprise.

The highly-anticipated Xperia X Compact is one of the smartphones to be announced by Sony very soon
