Police feared Mark might not want to be found.
Police believe Mr Tromp is in the Wangaratta area in Victoria.
Mitchell said his parents’ behaviour was out of character and he wanted to see his father return home.
Police began investigating on Tuesday after Riana, 29, was found stressed on the side of the road in Goulburn and was taken to hospital, where she remains supported by family.
Mitchell said while on the trip pressures about life were getting worse and his parents chose to flee.
“I’ve never seen my parents or anyone at all go to this extreme”, he said.
Mark is still missing, but it’s believed he was back in Victoria after the grey Peugeot they family left in was found in Wangaratta on Wednesday night and a man was seen running away. He went to Sydney, before catching a train back to Melbourne. “I love him, I just want someone to find him so we can bring him home”.
Mitchell was the only one to bring a mobile phone on the trip and at some point it was thrown out of the auto to “ease tensions” in the family group, Sergeant Mark Knight told reporters on Thursday.
At one point on the trip, Mitchell admitted to having his mobile phone, but he voluntarily threw it out the window at Warburton.
Mark and Jacoba were reported missing near the Janolan caves on Tuesday.
“We know her mental health and wellbeing is not of a good standard at the moment”, Sergeant Mark Knight said today.
Mitchell pleaded for his father to come home.
“On Tuesday afternoon when I was called to the actual address.it was an unusual scene that I was faced with”, he said.
Police and the Dog Squad searched the park, but failed to find the driver of the dumped vehicle.
Police in Wangaratta have not found evidence of Mark leaving the town by public transport and there has been no reports of cars being stolen.
But in a odd twist, Victoria police say the couple’s grey Peugeot station wagon was spotted by a young couple on Wednesday.
The vehicle stopped near Merriwa Park on Wangaratta Road before a male driver got out and ran off into the park.
Both are described as Caucasian.
