Will losing Teddy Bridgewater to knee injury sink Vikings’ season?

Sorenson, 28, was originally drafted by the Chargers in the seventh round of the 2013 NFL Draft out of Southern Utah.

As the Minnesota Vikings awaited test results to confirm what they already knew, that a gruesome knee injury had ended quarterback Teddy Bridgewater’s third season before it began, coach Mike Zimmer promised that his team wouldn’t spend long mourning.

The good news in Sugarman’s statement is there “appears to be no nerve or arterial damage”, which would significantly complicate Bridgewater’s rehabilitation process, and the team expects a full recovery.

Defensive tackle Scott Crichton and safety Antone Exum, Jr. cleared waivers and will be placed on injured reserve, along with Bridgewater and B.J. DuBose.

Bridgewater tore his ACL and dislocated his knee Tuesday on a non-contact injury.

Bridgewater suffered a dislocated knee and tear of his ACL, not to mention other structural damage, which effectively ends his 2016 season before it started.

Sorensen joins Shaun Hill and rookie Joel Stave on the active roster while Taylor Heinicke remains on the non-football injury list after hurting his foot while kicking a door. Surgical fix will be scheduled within the next few days. “We’re going to figure out a way”.

The resilient head coach vowed that the Vikings will keep fighting if their fears about Bridgewater’s injury come true and dared people to count them out.

The team expressed interest in free-agent quarterback Nick Foles a month ago as additional insurance for Bridgewater, but he signed with Kansas City.
