Porsche winds up Macan Turbo: new Performance Package released

The 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine has copped a 30kW and 50Nm boost to now produce 324kW and 600Nm, the latter spread between 1500rpm and 4500rpm, and teamed with the seven-speed dual clutch automatic the Macan Turbo Performance Pack manages a claimed 4.4-second 0-100km/h.

A new flagship performance variant is set to join the 2017 Porsche Macan range from March next year, with more power and torque, and adjusted dynamics making this the most focussed performance Macan yet.

Is it much faster than the regular Macan Turbo?

For the most focused chassis and drivetrain setup, Porsche’s Sport Chrono Package is offered, too.

But that’s not all, as the package also outfits the Macan Turbo with a newly developed brake system, a lowered sport chassis, the Sport Chrono Package and a sport exhaust system as standard. Porsche offers air suspension with height adjustment as an option, this lowers the vehicle by 10mm.

That’s right: Porsche has cranked a little more out of its flagship Macan Turbo, creating a new, more expensive derivative that’ll sprint from 0-62mph in 4.4sec – the same as a PDK-equipped 911 Carrera. It’s also lowered the standard sports-spec PASM suspension by 15mm, fitted 30mm-larger 390mm front discs (grabbed by red-painted six-pot calipers) and will let buyers option 21-inch 911 Turbo-style alloys if they so wish.

The Turbo Interior Package comes with black leather interior with Alcantara highlights and carbon fibre elements throughout the cabin.

The Macan Turbo Performance Package will cost from €91,000 in Europe when it goes on sale following its official debut at the Paris motorshow, which opens to the public on October 1.
