The remains of missing Oceanside resident Nikolaos Christidis, 76, were found in the desert near Lake Los Angeles on August. 15, 2015.

The Medical Examiner’s office has identified the body.

The Oceanside PD did not suspect foul play to be involved.

Christidis voluntarily left his home on the evening of July 22nd. His body was discovered about a mile and a half away from the vehicle. Department members had been on the scene for three days working with the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department in the search for Christidis, the statement said.

Investigators later confirmed that Christidis was in the Kern County town of Rosamond on July 23, but there have been no subsequent sightings of him.

The OPD said all attempts to contact Christidis since he disappeared by his family and police had failed.

She laid down take a nap.

Two hours later, in a telephone call with his daughter, Christidis said that he was in the desert would be back in an hour. He told his daughter he would be home late, but he never returned and was only reached twice via cell phone before all calls went straight to voice mail.

His cellphone had been turned off ever since, police said, and no one has heard from him. The black 2015 Honda had gotten stuck in sand. Previously, he got lost and ended up in Arizona.

It is believed that Christidis suffered from dementia, but according to San Diego’s NBC7, he never was officially diagnosed.
