The report claims Chelsea have made a £32 million offer for the Brazil global, with the player open to a return back to the London club.

Just days before the 2014 World Cup, PSG announced the signing of the David Luiz for £50 million, a world-record transfer fee for a defender.

Luiz, 29, travelled to London on Wednesday for a medical as the Blues confirmed the signing of Fiorentina left-back Marcos Alonso.

The return of their former player, however, would be a huge surprise given the criticism he has received for his performances in the Premier League, though the player remains a popular figure among Chelsea supporters. Let us know by dropping a comment below via our Facebook comment box.

Sky Sports celebrated the fact that Premier League clubs have spent over a billion pounds in transfer fees in the current transfer window.

The 27-year-old recently admitted he had considered a return to former employers Atletico Madrid after a hard year in England, which ultimately cost him a place in Spain’s Euro 2106 squad. “We had a fantastic story during my first time at the club and I want to help the team and Antonio Conte achieve a lot of success”.

“The club and me we know this and we are talking every day to improve the squad but we know also that it’s very hard in this market because it’s insane”.

He signed a five-year contract and is thought to have cost Spurs around £30mn (B1.36bn).

Middlesbrough signed Adama Traore from Aston Villa, Serge Gnabry swapped Arsenal for Werder Bremen and Liverpool sold Luis Alberto to Lazio.
