Viral response to travel app’s suggested 47-year layover is comedy gold
“Just wondering what you’d recommend I do during the 47-year layover your website has suggested?”

But one particularly witty representative for United Kingdom -based travel app Skyscanner actually made it sound pretty fun.
It all started when Skyscanner user James Lloyd got this puzzling flight itinerary from the app. Notice the extremely long layover in Bangkok – almost 414,000 hours, which is roughly 47 years.
Jen from Skyscanner’s responded to the query by helpfully listing a host of activities the customer could spend the next few decades enjoying.
But the response from Jen, a Skyscanner staff member, was what really turned it into a amusing post that went viral when she suggested activities he could do in Bangkok for those years. including celebrating Songkran, of course.
“A girl has no name”, Arya Stark said on “Game of Thrones”.
A member of flight comparison app Skyscanner’s social media team has become an unlikely internet celebrity after her hilarious responses to a customer complaint racked up thousands of “likes” on Facebook.
As a thank you to Lloyd for inadvertently launching this publicity stunt for Skyscanner, the company sent him a care package of sorts filled with “a few bits and bobs”, according to Jen.

There’s a host of amusing comments from Jen on the thread, which ultimately led to a happy ending for Lloyd.
