Why Jews Should Support Colin Kaepernick’s Brave National Anthem Protest
If Colin Kaepernick ends up getting released by the San Francisco 49ers, he may have an incredibly hard time finding work elsewhere.

Kaepernick said last week that he’s refusing to stand for the national anthem because he believes the United States oppresses African Americans and other minorities.
One executive said he hasn’t seen this much collective dislike among front office members regarding a player since Rae Carruth.
“I don’t want him anywhere near my team”, one executive told Bleacher Report. Kaepernick also joins a number of athletes in the National Basketball Association and NFL who specifically used their platforms to address the current issue of police brutality against black and brown people: the St. Louis Rams putting their hands up in solidarity with the Ferguson protestors; Lebron James wearing an “I Can’t Breathe” T-shirt in acknowledgement of the last words of Eric Garner.
As if all of that wasn’t bad enough news for Kaepernick, Freeman also found that the seven executives he spoke with fully expect the 49ers to release the backup quarterback sometime in the near future. “He has no respect for our country”, the executive said. A Gold Star mom who lost her son in an IED attack in Afghanistan told CNN that her heart stopped and she lost her breath when Kaepernick said he couldn’t stand for the flag.
Another said that if an owner asked him to sign Kaepernick, he would consider resigning, rather than do it. “I have family, I have friends that have gone and fought for this country”.
Freeman pointed out that Kaepernick had not broken any rules, and that several players who had committed actual crimes were still playing in the NFL.
Each of the seven execs said he believes Kaepernick will never play in the National Football League again if and when the 49ers cut the 28-year-old. Freeman said that out of the seven unnamed team executives he interviewed, all of them didn’t want to sign Kaepernick, and all of them said they believe nearly all National Football League teams felt likewise about him.
A man describing himself as an Air Force veteran wrote: “I’m with @Kaepernick7”.

Kaepernick, 28, was taken by San Francisco in the second round of the 2011 draft. “There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder”.
