How LeBron James Fulfilled His Promise to Elevate Kyrie Irving’s Game

After finally winning his first National Basketball Association championship in 13 seasons, Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Mo Williams may be about to sail off into the sunset.

Many sources told cleveland.com that he considered to announce retirement this week.

LeBron James is undoubtedly the best player in the National Basketball Association and he is well ahead of everyone else. Therefore, waiving him before the deadline would allow Cavaliers to pay Williams $2.2 million, and reduce his tax burden to the team by several million dollars.

Williams began last season as the starter when Kyrie Irving was out, but the veteran saw his role diminish over the course of the year due in part to nagging injuries that sidelined him during the Cavs’ run.

The Cavs weighed waiving Williams now – influenced by the appearance that he doesn’t seem to intend on playing – and having his salary spread out over three years (which will save them money now but add to their luxury tax penalties in each year), versus paying a larger penalty for Williams now in the final year of Williams’ contract.

In NBA 2K17, LeBron will be the best player on the current rosters and his rating will be 96.

Smith is still considered an undersized center but provides enough of a defensive threat to help Thompson out when the Cavaliers play defense. After moving Matthew Dellavedova in a sign-and-trade with the Bucks, Williams and rookie second-round pick Kay Felder are the only point men behind Kyrie Irving. In July, Kyler reported that Smith wanted $15 million annually. Channing Frye is a D+ in three point shooting? James’ arrival in Cleveland has granted Irving some big-time playoff moments, all opportunities that have enhanced the guard’s play and let everyone see what he’s capable of doing. With the New Orleans Pelicans last season, the 27-year-old averaged a career-best 10.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in a career-high 26.6 minutes per game in 45 games (23 starts). He was able to shoot 42 percent from the field and 35.6 percent from beyond the arc. His instincts are also on a point as he gets a lot of steals jumping in the passing lanes, which leads to lots of transition opportunities.

NBA Rumors J.R. Smith still has no deal with Cavaliers Nets should pursue stealing him from Le Bron James
