Abedin is the vice chairwoman of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign for president and prior to that served as the deputy chief of staff to the former secretary of state from 2009 to 2013. Her late father, Syed Zainul Abedin, was a graduate of Aligarh Muslim University and a university lecturer, and her mother – a Pakistani native – was a sociology professor.
“She did not want this to be another distraction for Hillary”, one friend said.
This is not about Hillary Clinton or Anthony Weiner, and it’s certainly not about Huma Abedin’s personal decision to leave a deteriorating marriage. Whatever advice passed between them about Weiner’s betrayal remains a private matter.
Frequently by Clinton’s side, Abedin was spotted outside fundraisers for the Democratic presidential nominee on Sunday in the Hamptons, on New York’s Long Island. Her email exchanges with Clinton were closely scrutinized during the Justice Department’s investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server.
Republicans have also alleged that donors to the Clinton Foundation got preferential treatment while Clinton was secretary of state.
Abedin discovered the new photos only after Weiner was questioned about them by the New York Post.
Weiner deleted his Twitter account Monday morning. The statement from Abedin followed.
“Huma is making a very wise decision”, he said in a statement.
The statement went on to criticise Clinton for allowing Weiner close proximity to classified information, suggesting that this had compromised USA security. Did Huma Abedin Weiner really not know she had a deviant taking care of her child?
The marital split spilled into the presidential campaign, with Trump seizing on it to accuse Clinton of “bad judgment”. “It is possible that our country and its security have been greatly compromised by this”.
Like her boss, Abedin has at times come under criticism laced with conspiracy. Weiner should have been shown the door years ago.
Weiner’s relationship with Abedin is scrutinized during a recent documentary on his unsuccessful 2013 bid for a political comeback during the New York City mayoral primary.

While Clinton works the ropeline after events, Abedin is always close behind and Clinton supporters regularly ask the aide for selfies with her, much like they do with the candidate.
“Many working moms feel this way – there is a lot of guilt”, Abedin said.

Like all the times he’s tried before, this too will fail. It’s hurts her professionally. The couple have a young son, Jordan. And the New York Daily News said it would no longer run his columns.
