Cowboys’ Dak Prescott lined up for Week 1 start

Couple the possibility of Romo’s absence with the fact the Cowboys will have three defensive starters suspended, and the makings of a strong start to the 2016 season and the McAdoo era for the Giants are there.

The Cowboys final preseason game is Thursday, at home against Houston. “You don’t ever want to see anyone get injured, especially before the season starts”. Romo was hurt on the third place of the Cowboys preseason game against the Seahawks on Wednesday, according to ESPN. After Tony Romo suffered a back injury in the third preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night, it appears the injury is worse than it appeared. “He has played with fractures in his back before”.

He stayed on the ground for a few minutes in pain before walking off the field on his own power.

An MRI on Friday showed a break at L1, just under the ribcage, at the top of Romo’s lumbar spine. The actual injury was defined as a “compression fracture of his vertebrae”. This was why it was important for the Patriots to get Edelman some game reps with both Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo before the September 11 regular-season opener. The good news is that he will not be out for the season.

Tony Romo will be sidelined six to ten weeks though. That darkness surrounded the Cowboys’ fans after the announcement that was made Saturday.

The injury bug has struck Tony Romo again, thrusting rookie Dak Prescott into the spotlight at quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.

Garrett said Romo’s current situation is not related to his past injuries, and his ability to play with two fractured transverse processes in 2014 gives them hope he can return sooner than later. And it’s not the first time Prescott has had to step in. Despite not winning a Super Bowl in 20 years, and despite making the playoffs just once in the last six seasons, they remain the most popular and hated team among National Football League fans. Garrett said the injury is not related to the surgeries Romo had in 2013.

“The mentality is different”, said receiver Dez Bryant, who missed seven games last season because of a broken foot.
