Danny Simpson signs new three-year deal at Leicester
The England duo of striker Jamie Vardy and midfielder Danny Drinkwater, Algerian star Riyad Mahrez, captain Wes Morgan, Danish goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and manager Claudio Ranieri have all signed new contracts.

An integral part of their Premier League winning defence, Simpson is in the final year of his contract but the Foxes are preparing to offer him a bumper deal that would put him among some of the squad’s highest earners.
The new contract sees the 29-year-old – who went to court in May to gain permission to attend the club’s victory parade because he was under curfew for assaulting his then girlfriend – tied to the club until 2019.
“The group that we’ve got here is so close and the manager since he’s come has helped me so much and still is helping me improve as a player”.
Simpson joined the Foxes in 2014 from QPR and despite struggling for first-team football in his first year, emerged as a pivotal figure down the flanks for them in last year’s fairy tale title success.
Simpson is now set to win a new contract to stay at Leicester long-term, with the former Manchester United youngster rewarded for his performances last season.
“I came here two years ago and it’s always hard coming to a new club”.

“I think has helped us a lot for the next season, because we knew what it meant to play in the Premier League. We’re loving every second of it and just enjoying it, and even though we are the champions, it’s not changed anything in the dressing room and at the training ground”.
