ZTE launches the 5.2 inch Axon 7 mini for €299 (officially)

ZTE have stormed the smartphone market with not only some great new phones this year, but also some unbelievably low-cost ones. While their first device aka. the ZTE Axon Pro gave a decent budget flagship alternative to USA buyers, this year’s Axon 7 is no less than a flagship killer. The new handset isn’t exactly a super-petite mid-4-inch model or anything, but a toned-down, 5.2-inch alternative to the full-sized Axon 7 mini. The AKM 4692 chip is included here, and these speakers are capable of producing Hi-Fi sound playback, while the phone also offers Hi-Fi recording. For example, the Axon 7 Mini has dual front-facing stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, and active noise cancellation thanks to its dedicated dual mic setup. But available to buy online.

The Axon 7 Mini design also stands up well to its flagship sibling.

Other features include a 16MP rear camera, an 8MP front camera, a fingerprint sensor on the back, and a USB 2.0 Type-C connector on the bottom.

It has a 2705 mAh battery and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge, allowing you to charge the battery to 50 percent in about a half hour. Side-by-side, the two phones nearly look identical, and when I placed the Axon 7 Mini on top of its flagship sibling it nearly covered the larger phone entirely. However, the phone doesn’t feature NFC which means you won’t be able to make contactless payments through it.

The Axon 7 did manage to capture the market’s attention with its powerful specs and reasonable price, thus keeping to the company’s promise to offer “affordable premium” smartphones. The phone will ship with Android 6.0 software and the Axon 7 mini comes in gold or grey color options.

RAM and storage capacities were also lowered from 4GB of RAM / 64GB of internal storage and 6GB of RAM / 128GB of memory on the Axon 7 to 3GB of RAM / 32GB of memory on the Mini variant. The company hasn’t inked any deals with any Premiership clubs in the United Kingdom nor has it officially released the Axon 7 in the country so far.

While announcing the Blade V7 and Blade V7 Lite phones earlier this year, ZTE announced that it had plans to sell as many as 70 million phones worldwide this year by selling reasonably-priced phones as well as by sponsoring big brands with huge fan following at the same time.
