Google Posts Factory Images for Android 7.0 Nougat
Meanwhile, LG’s upcoming V20 smart-phone is likely to be the first phone to be launched with an inbuilt Android 7.0 Nougat. So, while Google did in fact release Android 7.0 Nougat to the public on Monday afternoon, the only people who can use it for the time being are owners of Google’s Nexus branded smartphones.

Both methods require the use of the command line adb and fastboot tools and a little bit of knowhow, and you can follow the directions on those pages if you would like to give it a try. For those of you waiting for the factory images, they are now live. Users having Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Google Pixel C, Nexus 9, Nexus Player or Android One device may enjoy the latest update on their phones soon.
In Android Nougat, Google is implementing some new features and improving on some of the features that are carried over from the earlier Marshmallow OS.
However, the users of the old Nexus phones will still have a more updated version of the operating system when compared to other devices in the Android world.
Those with Nexus devices are going to start getting the roll-out today, and as you’d expect, there’s a lot of new features and improvements. Nexus devices, which are those running an unmodified version of Google’s phone and tablet OS will get the bump first. You should get a notification saying there’s an update ready to install. I’m sure if you’re coming from Marshmallow, however, Nougat’s download size will be significantly bigger. Along with the Android N OS, Sony is also providing new features and functions. Also, you’ll want to keep the device plugged in and perform the download over a Wi-Fi stable connection if you decide to go with an OTA updates.
